Sheena Mukkada, MD

Sheena Mukkada was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She attended Brown University where she earned a degree in biology. She then obtained her MD at the University of Cincinnati. She took one year off from medical school to work in Kampala, Uganda for the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics assisting with feasibility and implementation trials of new diagnostic tests for tuberculosis.

After completing her pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, she moved to Memphis to pursue further training in Pediatric Infectious Diseases. She is currently a clinical fellow at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and is also completing a Master in Public Health degree at the University of Memphis. Her primary research interest is the development and evaluation of resource appropriate tools for treating children with cancer in resource limited settings.
