Cancer Prevention and Healthy Living

This loan kit utilizes critical thinking sklils to encourage students to consider how lifestyle habits and environment can impact their health. 

 

Learning Objectives

In this lesson, students will:

  • Define cancer and cancer risk factors;
  • Identify UV-rays from the sun and tobacco use as cancer risk factors;
  • Compare and contrast a smokers mouth and a healthy mouth;
  • Define carcinogens; 
  • Recognize that different color fruits and vegetable have different phytonutrients that help prevent cancer.
